Patakua Lace-Like Woven Rebozo by Josefina Equihua
This exquisite, museum quality piece is part of our Meseta Collection. Patakua style weaving is one of the only in Michoacan that pre-dates contact with the Spanish. Woven on backstrap looms, the process requires incredible skill and tension control, as the outcome is a lace-like weave that is very difficult to keep even. This exquisite piece was woven by Josefina Equihua Juarez, who is an award winning artist and top maestra of her village.
This piece is very light and thin, perfect for complimenting outfits in warmer climates.
