COATS
These beautiful wool coats are from San Juan Chamula, Chiapas. The coarse wool cloth is made locally, a symbolic signature of Chamula traditions, where sheep are considered sacred. The hand embroidered patterns on two of these pieces feature cosmic designs symbolizing the universe and the Maya world view, whereas the brown coat is embroidered with traditional flower patterns.
We are still adding pieces to our site. If you are looking for anything specific, please don't hesitate to email us at folklorica@proton.me
